This physics video tutorial provides a basic introduction into viscosity of fluids. Viscosity is the internal friction within fluids. Honey has a high amount of viscosity compared to water. Honey travels slowly down an inclined plane where as water will flow down quickly. Viscosity can be reduced by increasing the temperature. This video explains how to calculate the coefficient of viscosity and the velocity gradient in a typical example problem. The velocity gradient is the ratio between the velocity and the distance between the moving and stationary plate.
