HUGE UPDATE! FAA Just Declared ''No Mishap Investigation On Starship Flight 4.''
So incredible! Based on the events of Flight 4, we predicted that the FAA would not initiate an investigation into the mishap. And that prediction has come true. Flight 5 will proceed as soon as Starship is ready.
But that’s not all. The FAA also delivered more good news to SpaceX with positive progress on the proposal to launch Starship in Florida.
What exactly happened, and how will this impact the next phase of Starship's journey? Let’s delve into this on today’s episode of Great SpaceX!
HUGE UPDATE! FAA Just Declared ''No Mishap Investigation On Starship Flight 4.''
Before Flight 4, attention was not only on flight preparation but also on updates from the FAA. The agency had outlined several scenarios that wouldn't require investigation if they occurred during the flight, including heat shield problems, engine issues, and flap malfunctions.
HUGE UPDATE! FAA Just Declared ''No Mishap Investigation On Starship Flight 4.''
Despite this, we still needed official confirmation from the FAA. That confirmation has finally arrived. Yesterday, on X, an email from Sam Lichtman, the FAA's Public Affairs Specialist, was revealed. The email stated: “The FAA is not requiring an investigation. The FAA evaluates the operations of the SpaceX Starship Flight 4 mission. All flight events for both the Starship vehicle and the Super Heavy booster appear to have occurred within the scope of planned and authorized activities.”
Flight 4 was truly a milestone, especially with SpaceX successfully landing both stages.
