Ernest Guter was born in 1917 in Torun, then part of Germany but now part of Poland. In this video, he explains why his parents didn't immigrate to Italy when they had a chance. They chose to stay in Nazi Germany to care for Ernest's disabled brother. In 1939, Ernest immigrated to England. Source: MHMC, 1995
