On May 24, 1941, in the Denmark Strait, German Battleship Bismarck sank the British Navy HMS Hood battlecruiser, and this was her first victory, but her crew didn't know it was her last victory too. The critical damage to Bismarck's fuel tank during the Denmark Strait battle hindered her speed and maneuverability, leading her to retreat towards France. But torpedo bombers from the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal hit her on May 26th. One hit caused the battleship's rudder to become stuck, and she was unable to steer properly, but the main strike was still on the way.
