A compilation of weird, wonderful and scary night sounds from the Australian bush. Over the past few years I've recorded all kinds of interesting night sounds while out in the bush, so I decided to have a bit of fun and create this composition featuring some of the highlights. Although Australian marsupials are generally cute, fluffy creatures, their vocal repertoires usually consist of hideous grunts, shrieks, coughs, barks, snorts or other awful calls. Throw in the mix a few of the screeches, rattles and screams from some Australian owls and you have yourself a cacophony of appalling sound!
Species featured in this composition include Yellow-bellied Glider, Tasmanian Devil, Common Brushtail Possum, Short-eared Brushtail Possum, Eastern Grey Kangaroo, Common Wombat, Koala, Dingo, Greater Sooty Owl, Australian Masked Owl, Channel-billed Cuckoo and Bush Stone-curlew. I'll timestamp some of the calls soon.
