What gives rise to the subjective emotions that we feel? This video sheds some light on the complex neurobiology behind emotions. When the neurocircuitry of emotion go haywire, it results in emotional disorders such as anxiety disorders. However, because they are mental illnesses, they can be a lot harder to understand than other illnesses such as diabetes. As such, they are often dismmised as just 'feelings'. Perhaps if we can understand the neurobiology behind these 'feelings', it will be easier for us to see the biological basis of these emotional disorders.
