In this episode, in conversation with Jen Sisson, CEO of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN) ([ Ссылка ]), we explore how international corporate governance rules are established, canvassing key differences between the ICGN Principles and other governance standards such as the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance ([ Ссылка ]) Our discussion centres how these standards might evolve to tackle emerging challenges such as climate change and technological disruption. We also dive into the impact of geopolitical shifts on investors. We look at the proliferation and effectiveness of stewardship codes, including in traditionally complex - from a governance perspective - environments such as Japan. Additionally, we consider emerging governance regulations practices in the Middle East and analyse what major investor proxy fights at companies like Disney and Amazon reveal about the state of investor rights worldwide.
