(August 2015) Today, 800 million people across the world are chronically malnourished. An important part of improving nutrition is having food security, or ensuring that people have stable access to enough nutritious food. Many strategies have been developed to improve food security, but one often overlooked approach is through voluntary family planning. For communities and nations, it slows population growth—which in turn helps ensure that people have stable access to enough nutritious food. These benefits to nutrition can accelerate economic development and help nations build a brighter and more prosperous future.
