Former prime minister Joe Clark, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, Housing Minister Sean Fraser, former Conservative leader Erin O'Toole, former Conservative MP Michael Fortier, former governor generals Michaëlle Jean and David Johnson as well as U.S. Ambassador to Canada David Cohen comment on the legacy of Brian Mulroney as they attend the lying-in-state of the former prime minister in Ottawa.
Mulroney, who served as prime minister from 1984 until 1993, died February 29 at the age of 84. The former leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada is lying in state in the nation's capital for two days. A state funeral is planned for March 23 at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal. Canada's 18th prime minister will also lie in repose in Montreal for two days before the funeral.
