Powder Hull
"Between 90-96% of fresh snow is air. Not water.
(Reference: National Snow and Ice Data Center, 2019)"
The PowderHull moves beyond the influences of surfing and is instead a response to the understanding that at least 90% of powder is air and that it’s the study of how air moves and reacts under your board that will lead to design innovation, not water. The deep concaves that characterize this unique design serve 2 functions, depending on if the concave is receiving, or releasing air. The leading concave receives air and compress it with the venturi shape/effect causing the positive air-pressure push upwards and lift the nose. At the tail end where the air is being expanded and released, a negative air-pressure is created pulling the tail of the board downward. What F1 cars call downforce. It is this combined effect that generates the ideal planning angle of the board and is responsible for the 20/20’s magical float that no other “twin” board has.
