Oakland native Kamaiyah Johnson performed earlier that day on the Tunnel Stage, and when Young Thug’s flight was delayed due to the same weather, Kamaiyah and her team of MCs put on ponchos and goggles and volunteered to do a second performance and DJ set on the Bridge Stage. The rain and wind were heavy, most equipment was covered in tarps, the jumbotron frequently swayed in the wind, and heavy winds shut down the pier and Ferris wheel.

Many fans creatively made their own ponchos out of free festival garbage bags. Even fans that brought ponchos to the festival utilized these bags as poncho enhancers, as the ponchos for purchase had short arm sleeves :P

This was the festival’s final year on Treasure Island due to island construction. The festival started in 2007. It was definitely a memorable goodbye, however cold, wet and muddy it was :P
