The engagement of conservative, populist governments with constitutional reform and constitution-making is perceived as a significant threat to the rule of law and democracy within the European Union. In this webinar, Prof. Paul Blokker (Charles University/University of Bologna) discusses whether populism ought to be understood not only as a rejection of liberal constitutionalism, but also as a competing political force in the definition of constitutional democracy.
