A comparison between the two newest Samsung smartphones in my smartphone collection, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge +. Which one of these large screen smartphones do you think would beat the other in terms of speed? Let’s find out!
First experiment conducted between the two was the startup and both the Galaxy smartphones started up at the same time with the S6 Edge plus being minutely faster.
With similar price tags, the devices have similar user interfaces but the display of the S6 Edge+ seems to pop out more in terms of color and brightness than the display of the Note5. The operating system running on both the Samsung Galaxy smartphones are still the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS—And will of course be upgradable to Android Marshmallow when it arrives.
One noticeable difference in the phones is the number of columns of app icons in the app menu where the S6 Edge + contains 5 columns while the Note 5 has only 4. There may be an option to customize this in the settings menu but it still is interesting all the same.
As a specialty of the note series Galaxy Note 5 consists of its SPen which is not an accessory present for the Galaxy S6 Edge +. But that doesn’t mean the S6 Edge plus is less interesting than the Note5. The slightly curved edges of the Edge + makes it attractive and will be one good reason for you to take a look at the device.
As we could see, the general usage speeds remain similar in the two smartphones. But stay tuned for more elaborate benchmark, internet speed and gaming tests in the future!
