The sunsetting of 3G could have a significant impact on the trucking industry. Many early ELD devices are tied to the 3G network, and once those go down, any carriers still using those devices will find themselves out of compliance with the ELD mandate. Other telematics devices will also be impacted if not upgraded to a 4G or newer device.
