There's surprisingly little breeding in this game...
Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at Alien Breed, an overhead 2D shooter originally created by Team 17 for Amiga computers in 1991, then ported to DOS and published through MicroLeague Inteactive Software in 1993.
This is one of those rare games which has no standout features in the slightest and manages to be perfectly average in almost every regards. It doesn't do anything terribly wrong, but doesn't do anything exceptionally right either, thus it easily fell into obscurity.

Additional Information and Corrections:
* If you want to grab the game for yourself, here's where you can find it on GOG: [ Ссылка ]
* There's a few other map features you should probably be on the watch for which I didn't elaborate on. There's forcefields which can only be walked through in one direction, otherwise they insta-kill you, there's refuge chutes which open and close which you don't want to be standing over when they open, otherwise they insta-kill you, and there's acid which doesn't insta-kill you on contact but comes pretty close.
