A tragic incident occurred at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) today. Amid heavy rains, part of the roof at Terminal 1 collapsed, resulting in one death and five injuries. The incident took place around 5:30 am, damaging cars, including taxis, in the pick-up and drop area. The Delhi Fire Services dispatched three fire engines for rescue operations, ensuring no one else is trapped in the wreckage. Terminal 1 departures are temporarily suspended until 2 pm, while other terminals continue to operate normally. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu is monitoring the situation closely.
