Rice, fish, and vegetables are among the most wasted food in the country according to the lasted nutrition survey of the Department of Science and Technology–Food and Nutrition Research Institute.

DOST-FNRI added that 1,717 metric tons of food are wasted every day nationwide, due to Filipinos buying more than what they can actually consume.
