Within Asean, Indonesia will contribute the most to global growth in 2023. Economic and market outcomes this year and next will also be influenced by the elections in February 2024. To get a sense of the election cycle’s impact on the economy, we conduct an event study, using data from elections in the past two decades. Senior Economist Radhika Rao will share key findings, and will be joined by Maynard Arif, Head of Indonesia Equity Research, who will outline the equity markets and sectoral themes.
