Happy #TherapyTipTuesday! This is an advanced version of last week’s tip which is great for strengthening, balance, and coordination.
Be sure to share this tip if you feel it can benefit others! Consult with your local therapist to determine if this tip is safe and appropriate for your child.
For this tip help the child stand on top of a bosu ball or balance board. Next, hold a toy on either side and instruct them to reach and push it with either hand. Move the toy in all planes - up, down, and from side to side - for the child to reach across midline or using the affected side. This will challenge their balance and stepping reactions when reaching in all directions. If your child struggles with balance, stay close by to ensure they are safe while performing the activity.
