This second video is of the Asahi class, the follow on to the Akizuki which is very similar, which I purchased and already built and have a video of here alone on my channel.
Here, I have finished the hull, the props, rudders, the main deck...adding the decals to that deck, and then all of the main parts of the super structure. I have also added all of the weapons (ASM Missiles x 8, 1 x Mk-141 carrying 128 ESSM Missiles, 1 5" gun, 2 x Phalanx CIWS, the Japanese Seahawk helicopter, all of the life-buoys, and the large chain for the anchors.
Buth there is a LOT to do yet, as I explain in the video.
Probably another 150+ parts of resin and metal.
These are great models by Arts Technique and Pit Road. Being all highly detailed Resin and metal. they are expensive...but also worth it.
I intend to have another two video as I continue and finish this second (and last) in class, the JS Shiranui DD-120. Part of their 25DD project.
As I said in the first video, I thought some folks might want to see a model like this and how it is put together.
Designed as more Japanese "AEGIS" vessels of their own make, with dual band radar and the capability of Cooperative Engagement with JMSDF Kongo and Atago AEGIS destroyers, with Akizuki and the other Asahi destroyer, and with US AEGIS destroyers and cruisers.
They were specifically designed with a stronger ASW capability, and to (along with the Akizuki class) to escort Hyuga class and Izumo class carriers, as well as Atago class AEGIS DDGs performing Intercontinental Missile defense missions, supporting them with their strong air defense of 128 ESSM missiles in a 32 cell MK-141 VLS system.
These are very modern and very capable ships. Very squared away.
And the models are very well built and able to produce a museum class model if you build it carefully. Very detailed, and very good/excellent fits.
So, that's the second description of the model and I hope you enjoy it and the follow on videos.
Thanks
