You may have heard that there are five stages of grief. This is one approach to thinking about grief that many people have found helpful. Originally developed by psychiatrist Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and published in her book “On Death and Dying,” these stages are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. They are a broad description of some of the kinds of feelings one may experience while grieving a loss. Our video helps familiarize you with these stages so that you can begin to understand what you, a loved one, or a friend may be going through in the days and months following a death.
