SRAM has relaunched its popular Force AXS groupset. RIDE Media has new Cannondale Lab71 SuperSix Evo review bike fitted with 12-speed ensemble, and this is part one of a series about SRAM’s latest release for the road and gravel market.
The wireless shifting system has been dramatically modified for the first time since the debut of Force AXS in 2019. The ‘eTap’ tag in the title is gone and there are a range of features for the new groupset which SRAM says is now available in bike shops around Australia.
Australian pricing ranges from AUD$3,412 to AUD$4,396 (correct as of the release date in March 2023).
There are weight savings, but the real selling point is the refinement of SRAM’s second-in-line groupset, which features redesigned levers, improved shifting, a bright new ‘Unicorn Grey’ / ‘Laser Foil’ finish, and a considerable change to the crankset / chainring arrangement (which now also incorporates an integrated power meter option).
In part 1 of the series, we showcase the look of the new Force AXS on the first ride – along with a few of the guys from SRAM – and then get the low-down on the tech set-up in an interview with Lachlan McKillop, SRAM’s ‘Technical Content Specialist’.
There’s more to come from this series (including commentary about the launch of Cannondale’s Lab71 SuperSix Evo frame) but this is an introduction to the new groupset.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I’ll do my best to get you some answers.
