Your recipe will tell you the jar size best recommended to have a safe canned product.
However, when you are making the recipe do not INCREASE your jar size, but decreasing your jar size is acceptable.
if you have a recipe that calls for quart jars, but you only have pint and a half jars, you can use the pint and a half, but you would process for the time of the quart jar.
It is better to error on the side of caution than make up a time or recipe.
Half jelly jars➡️ process for half pints
Pint and a half ➡️ process for quart jars
If you cannot find a processing time for your recipe, the safest option you should choose is to refrigerate or freeze.
