The 2022 Nissan Almera VL has finally arrived, and the newest Almera also has a turbo engine under its hood. What we have here is the 2022 Nissan Almera VL N-Sport Turbo, the top-spec variant of the Nissan Almera in the Philippines. In this Filipino Car review, we take a tour of the all new 2022 Nissan Almera NSport and see what the differences are. I did not get a chance to drive it yet, but maybe Nissan Philippines will let me drive one soon. The 2022 Nissan Almera is known as the Nissan Versa in the US market, and the Renault Scala or the Nissan Micra. The 2022 Nissan Versa also shares the same look as the Nissan Leaf, but this 2021 Nissan Almera N-Sport gets a turbocharged engine instead of the electric motor of the Leaf. The 2022 Nissan Almera N-Sport gets an aluminum engine block and the same bore coating as the Nissan GTR, which helps improve its fuel; economy. The 2021 Nissan Almera VL also gets Nissan's Intelligent Mobility Suite, a first in the segment. It is also the only subcompact sedan that comes with this safety feature, since the Honda City RS and the Toyota Vios GR-Sport do not get it. The 2021 Nissan Almera is meant to go against the Honda City, the Mitsubishi Mirage G4, and the Toyota Vios. The price is right there in that level, and with the 2022 Nissan Almera VL N-Sport, the good looks and features makes it a good contender for the segment.
