The institution responsible for protecting human rights here in Canada, is under review by a United Nations-affiliated oversight body.
The Canadian Human Rights Commission is facing a special review of its accreditation by the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions in Geneva, Switzerland. The review comes following findings of discrimination against Black and racialized employees at the commission by the Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada and the Senate Human Rights Committee.
