This episode I demonstrate how to play submarines, and highlight the futility of the ping mechanic.
I highly recommend reducing Submarine health by about 25% and/or increasing depth charge damage, and reducing detection range of destroyers by submarines to about 3.5-4km (nnone likes getting spotted to death by a periscope submarine!).
I also recommend changing torpedo damage a bit, either via reduced damage (slightly) and increased sinking chances, or other debilitating effects over damage. Alternatively, make the submarine a glass cannon with massive torp damage but no health/survivability to boot.
The submarines should be high risk, high reward. If I can get to a battleship undetected and land an ambush on it, it should feel the pain. However, if it spots me before I land my strike, I should feel the pain and run the risk of immediate destruction.
Still, I enjoy submarines and the sheer pain they can inflict on lone vessels and the eternal carriers.
Also, just remove the ping as it's a useless feature.
