It's early evening at the Fraser Point Bald Eagle nest on Santa Cruz Island, California.
Fledgling "Manini" has been out and about exploring the area since he lost his balance and fell off a branch on the nest tree June 21, 2024.
This evening, June 23, 2024, at 1927 (7:27pm) the camera operator finds him on the ground underneath the nest "talking" and seeming content.
We have some nice views of his feet and talons, his wings, tail, and his cute face even though he stays behind a big branch the entire time.
Manini looks great!
He has been seen flying by the nest, and now on the ground below, but he has not returned to the nest again yet.
A young eagle's life is full of adventures, and all is well at Fraser Point
