Planxty was started in 1972 when Christy Moore pulled in some wonderful musicians and friends to start a new type of musical group. They played as they wished. Traditional music with a touch of their own ideas and arrangements. 'The Jolly Beggar/Wise Maid' (traditional reel) is from their first album, self titled 'Planxty'. It was released in 1973 and again in 1989. For purists and those who just love good music, Enjoy!
