It wasn’t gunna last long, if that was an unknown than what is? I obviously don’t condone drinking and driving but this has become a meme not only because of its prevalence as a problem but it’s nature seeing how intertwined with the social problem of alcohol addiction which in being a very well known and often discussed social woe finds itself a common ground for humor.

The humor here is clearly inherent, a vow not to do something stupid and dangerous anymore broken within a second, like gym memberships started at New Years.
