Following a stroke, individuals may experience physical, sensory, cognitive, behavioral and emotional impairments. When stroke patients do not receive adequate support for psychological effects of stroke, it can hinder recovery and reduce one’s motivation to pursue rehabilitation. An increased focus on psychological care following a stroke can improve one’s recovery and improve overall quality of life.
