10 Scary TRUE First Day on the Job Horror Stories
Nate felt a combination of excitement and anxiety as he arrived for his first day of work at The Brunswick Hotel, a massive, century-old building that towered over the downtown area. The hotel was known for its luxury and for having hosted countless celebrities over the years, but its shadowy halls and dated architecture gave it an eerie presence. Rumors among the locals called it haunted, but Nate wasn’t the type to believe in ghosts.
“First day?” asked Greg, his supervisor, a grizzled man who looked like he’d seen more than his fair share of long nights and odd occurrences. Greg handed him a set of keys and a walkie-talkie.
“Yeah,” Nate said. “Anything I should know?”
Greg smirked and leaned in closer. “Stay away from the seventh floor. The elevators don’t stop there, and if they do, don’t get out. Just…don’t.”
Nate’s stomach churned a bit, but he laughed it off. “Sure, got it,” he replied, though Greg's serious expression lingered in his mind.
The first few hours went by without incident. He shadowed Greg through the hotel's maze-like corridors, adjusting to the work—helping guests, delivering room service, and making sure everything ran smoothly. Despite the odd layout and occasional creaks, the job wasn’t too bad. That is, until the seventh-floor warning crept back into his thoughts.
Curiosity gnawed at him. Why would they have a floor no one could visit? Nate's shift dragged on until midnight, and by that time, the hotel was nearly empty. The guests were either asleep or out, and Greg had left him alone to finish up the quieter tasks.
