Neck Pain and Numbness while cycling..
I see a lot of cyclists who complain of numbness in the arms/hands while cycling.
Here are the TOP 3 things you can do to prevent it...
Nerves going into your hands first come from your neck, often what happens is these nerves get compressed!
What causes the compression?
well, a few things...
1. it could be from compression of the middle and anterior scalene muscles in your neck
2. it could be compression from the vertebrae in your neck
3. it could be compression from your shoulders being rolled inward for long periods of time
what can you do about it?
1. keep your chin tucked back and shoulder blades back
2. BREATH into your upper chest creating space at the collarbone
3. chiropractic adjustments will improve space for the vertebrae which are compressed - and BREAK UP the tight muscles which compress the nerves!
one thing that I do that is very UNIQUE is to check and adjust the anterior (FRONT) side of the vertebrae where the nerves exit out!
if you have any questions please let me know...
and i'll see you in the office or out on the roads!
