Ingredients:
500 grams All purpose flour
250 grams sugar
230 grams Butter
2 Eggs.
2 tsp vanilla
Baking powder - 2 tsp
For the filling:
500 grams Dates.
100 grams cashewnutts
4-5 tablespoons sugar
Water. - 1 cup
1 tsp vanilla
1 Egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
Method:
Remove seed s from the dates and chop.
In a medium size pan Add the sugar and water to the dates and cook until the dates get soft.
Mash the dates and put off the heat and add chopped cashews and add 1 tsp vanilla combine well.
keep it aside.
Beat the sugar and butter untill creamy
Add the eggs and beat until creamy.
Sidt flour and baking powder together.
Now add the flour to the butter mixture.
Fold in with your hand and make a dough.
Divide the dough into two portion.and wrap it with plastic wrap and leave in the refrigerator for half an hour.
set a butterd tray..
Press one portion in a buttered tray evenly.
Put the filling in the center and spread well.
spread the other portion over date filling. Keep cut marks
beat the egg with half tsp vanilla
Apply the egg yolk.
Bake in 360 degrees f for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown. Leave for an hour and cut into pieces and enjoy 😊
