She opens like the petals of the wild poppy
on a foggy morning seeking the sun
The bee takes the music like pollen through the air
Carrying the notes to the swarming hive
Who touch it with their thousand bodies fair
Caressing private joys and sorrows to life
The sunflower sweeps her face toward the light
she follows his daily routine
morning glories in the sweet soil fold up with the night
in early hours he'll free the melodies
She observes him working and imagines it so
As he weeds and tends, a song on his lips
While his pure heart makes the flowers yearn and grow
Teasing from her tender music
