This is a 2019 Remington made Marlin Model 60. In looking to turn one of my 22lr rifles into a light weight squirrel gun; I was originally going to build another Ruger 10-22 with a carbon fiber barrel, light weight stock and so on, but I would have ended up spending hundreds of dollars. Having several 22 rifles I decided to put just a little bit of money into this Marlin Model 60. The first step was to get this trigger pull down to a manageable level. Here in this video I show the results of installing an M-CARBO trigger spring kit. The kit advertised a 35% reduction in trigger pull, but this little Model 60 was breaking at 8 pounds or more. After installing the kit it was breaking between 4 and 4.5 pounds. Needless to say, I was more than pleased. While I'd love to have it breaking at 3 pounds, I'll take the 4 pounds all day long over the 8 pounds that it was at. Because of these results, I'll likely order a couple of more kits to install in the other Model 60s that I have. The next step for this little rifle is to get the ATI polymer stock ordered and installed. I'm hoping this will shed a couple of pounds off the overall rifle weight. The last step will be to get it in the woods for a little squirrel hunting this fall.
