The model IV is synonymous with Bechstein's model 9 upright piano, standing at 122cm tall and with overstrung bass strings for added richness.

The piano has had some restoration work carried out on it in recent years, including a respray of the cabinet. Since arriving in our workshop, we hvae replaced the original ivory with Ivorelle keytops and polished the black keys. The hammers have been re-centered and shaped, hammer springs and action tapes have been replaced and the action has been fully regulated. The result is a piano with great character and warm European tone, matched with a responsive touch you'd usually only expect from a much younger instrument.
