Joanne is a writer, fiction editor, and proofreader passionate about language and culture, world mythology and folklore, and human-centred marketing. One of her favourite mythological creatures is the makara.
After graduating from the University of York with a BSc in Psychology, Joanne travelled through Europe and ended up teaching English in Sri Lanka for several years. She taught science in the UK for almost a decade, then returned to the tropics. She can now be found chasing her children around the Sri Lankan wilderness where she lives with her husband and too many animals.
