Reptiles are being discriminated against in society and science. When a lion gets killed, the world is in an uproar. Yet, when a mass slaughter of crocodiles occurs, no one even talks about it. Our hate and fear for reptiles are woven into the fabric of our society, even our language. Culture, parenting style and the media play huge roles in our collective fear. We base our fear on misinformation, things that are not true. If we would know that reptiles are not so different from us, and that they are crucial for our planet, we would care more about them. That is why I will tell you the truth about these animals and why we should save them.
