Before Kokichi Ouma met D.I.C.E.,He was in a abusive home well dealing with guilt. That his mother left because she couldn't stay healthy and ended up in a rehab. She wasn't abusive towards him,she couldn't handle the pressure of her husband.

He blamed himself for making her go away. Turning his eyes gray with swirls as a sign of the guilt eating at his mental health and the sweating.

He tried to make a place in a head where he could escape from reality.

Kinda like a headspace.

His father was abusive but when he didn't hit him, He wouldn't scare him, laugh and walk away. Sometimes just giving him a dull look.

He ended up killing his dad and he was sent to a mental hospital.

They always give him eye tests since they would change from gray to red from stress.

He hated it and managed to escape and create D.I.C.E.

Soon his mental health got better from being around his new family.He wasn't timid or scared as much.

He was more confident and comfortable around them.He loved them and they loved him.

He was timid and a nervous wreck at school tho. But he knew if he got angry at the bullies, they'll end up like his father and he didn't want that.

So he suppressed his anger.

Giving everyone at school a idea that he was just a weakling.
