Alexandroúpoli is a port city in the province of Evros (nomos) in Western Thrace in Greece, and is also the center of this province. The 2001 population was 48,885. It is the largest city in the province of Evros.

There is a small airport and a faculty of health sciences in the settlement, which is as far as Ipsala Customs Gate (40 km).

There is an opinion that the city was founded by Alexander between 340 - 339 BC.
