Singapore's District Court has sentenced Karl Liew to two weeks' jail for lying to a judge during a previous trial, where his family maid, Ms Parti Liyani, was being accused of theft. The prosecution and defence had sought a S$5,000 fine for Liew, who is the son of former Changi Airport Group chairman Liew Mun Leong. But the judge decided differently.
