Canadians will soon be paying more for their steak, with beef prices at the supermarket set to rise as cattle producers contend with drought and high feed prices.
Dry conditions in the United States are making feed more expensive, resulting in prices tightening across North America, according to one expert.
"Some cattle farmers also say they have been dealing with drought conditions at their feedlots for some time. That's costing them more as they have to truck in feed.
