Ranked #33 on imdb.com, Harakiri is one of the most famous and beloved samurai movies. It's about seppuku, the Japanese ritual-suicide system.
Set in the 1600s, it's a movie that nevertheless about the modern world (circa 1962). The director, Masaki Kobayashi, is here up to discussing how powerful rulers unjustly use systems and traditions to maintain power at the expense of weaker or poorer people.
