Now that I've been running the MG10XU board for a year or so, it seemed like a good time for a follow-up video with...

For the "live sound" segment, I'm using a Turbosound iP2000 column array speaker, recorded with a Zoom H6 using the standard X/Y capsule, a MXL-990 condenser, and directly from the board. I'm also using FX #2: Reverb on the board.

I still wish this board had compressors on all (4) of the XLR/combo channels and some combination FX (i.s. chorus + reverb). It would also be splendid to have sweepable mids and individual monitor sends for each channel. But those are just pennies in the wishing well, so life goes on - LOL.

Final analysis: IMO, this board works BEST running live sound for a 3-5pc band, in smaller venues (50-100 people) or practices with...

- 1-4 vocals
- 1-2 guitars
- 1-2 keyboards
- (backing tracks)
- Bass and Drums on their own (NO signals thru the board)
- Board is on-stage, on a mic-stand, run by a band member

PS: ABOUT THE ON-BOARD EFFECTS (10-05-20)

Many people complain about the MG's digital effects - and I get it.

While better than nothing, none of the on-board effects are suitable for home studio use (IMO) because you can achieve SO much more control and flexibility inside a DAW.

Personally, I've been running this little board for over a year, and settled on the second reverb patch; which sounds perfectly fine for our band rehearsal and small venue performances.

However, if you absolutely need to upgrade the FX for whatever reason, here is the cheapest and most highly rated option I can find for doing so using the FX loop function...

Although I wish it had more than two "combo" effects, ALL of the effects seem to provide quite a step up in quality from the on-board options.

(JM2C as I haven't personally tried it yet...)
