Filmed in 2006 for the exhibition Blood Earth Fire | Whāngai Whenua Ahi Kā.
Garry was a young man when he decided city life wasn’t for him. He found his place in the bush of Tōrere, Bay of Plenty, learning rongoā (traditional Māori medicine) from his family. Garry now teaches kaitiakitanga (guardianship) of the bush to others. Have you ever made a big move to a new place?
