The best lesson on patience and perseverance, this Nigerian goat did not want to be milked, but she rejected one of her babies and I was determined that the baby would still have the best. After looking at videos on dealing with a “difficult goat” I knew I had a next level goat that was nothing like what I saw online! She would squash her udder on whatever I put under her, she would sit in my hand and refuse to get up, she would kick, and dance and generally make everything impossible! But I found a few things that worked, the right sized crate helped, having her baby nurse one side while I milked the other side, and deciding that I would out stubborn her, eventually we reached an accord. She still requires some coaxing a constant drip of good grain, but we finally have milk for our sweet baby goat!
