Green Mango Masoor Dal
Servings - 2 - 3
INGREDIENTS
Split red lentils - 200 grams
Water - 1.5 litres, divided
Raw mangoes - 90 grams
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Dry red chilli - 3
Green chilli - 1 teaspoon
PREPARATION
1. In a mixing bowl, add 200 grams split red lentils, 500 millilitres water and wash it well.
2. Take a pot, add washed dal in it, add 1-litre water, 90 grams raw mangoes, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon salted mix it well.
3. Cover it with lid and cook till you hear 2 whistles.
4. Remove the lid and mix it well. Keep aside.
5. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pot, add 1/2 teaspoon cumin, 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds and stir well.
6. Add 3 dry red chilli, 1 teaspoon green chilli and saute for 2 - 3 minutes or till golden brown in colour.
7. Now, add the cooked dal in it and mix it well.
8. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes.
9. Serve hot with roti or rice.
