STORYLINE:

Romanian President Ion Iliescu arrived in Beijing on Tuesday for an eight-day state visit at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao.

During his stay, Iliescu will meet with Chinese leaders to discuss bilateral issues.

It's Iliescu's sixth visit to China. Besides Beijing, he will also visit Shanghai and Hong Kong.
