Heavy rain is pounding parts of Northeast Ohio on Friday, with flooding now a concern for several areas.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Warning for the following locations:
-Portions of Stark County, including Nimishillen Creek and the West Branch of Nimishillen Creek until 4 a.m. Saturday.
-Eagle Creek at Phalanx Station affecting Trumbull County until at least 7 a.m. on Saturday.
-Killbuck Creek Near Killbuck affecting Wayne and Holmes Counties until at least late Sunday morning.
At 7:56 p.m., the NWS reported that river gauges indicated the West Branch of Nimishillen Creek is rising toward minor flood stage. Additional heavy rainfall through the wee hours of Saturday morning will likely allow the creek to reach minor flood stage. Flooding is expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
Some locations that will experience flooding include: Canton, North Canton, Louisville, Hartville, East Sparta, Meyers Lake, Hills And Dales and Perry Heights.
