Hey guys! Back again with yet another lick lesson video! This one uses pedal tone notes over descending patterns of five notes over a 5/4 time signature. Yngwie Malmsteen is fond of using this style of lick. The descending notes very much feels like fives as it descends by step. This one is a tricky one to count in the start, as the lick starts with a downstroke on the last 16th of the fourth beat of bar one (so on the 'a' of 4-e-&-a). This is so the descending scalar notes fall on the beat. It's possible to start on the G note on the high E (15th fret) on the first beat, but be sure to start on an upstroke. It is also possible to start the lick on the first beat of the bar, it will just mean the descending scalar notes fall on the off beats. This lick utilizes alternating picking (down up down up...etc) with the pick slanting upwards to allow for ease of playing. Tab is available at www.facebook.com/stavismusic
